The Indian cuisine
Indian cuisine is diverse and extraordinary, with different colors and flavors, an interesting mixture of culture, history, religious beliefs, climate and availability of different ingredients and spices. It is a well known fact that sauces, chutneys and pickles are always present on an Indian table. Also, many Indians are lacto-vegetarians, eating fruits, vegetables, whole grains, milk, plant based proteins. And even if meat is rarely used in different dishes, this doesn’t mean that meals are less consistent or less aromatic. Using so many spices in the cooking process, it gives food an amazing taste, without the taste of meat being missed.

Does anyone know of a really good Indian soup or beef recipe that can be prepared in a crockpot?
I’m preparing a full course Indian dinner for guests on the weekend (I’m not Indian by the way!!) and would like to use my crockpot as a method of preparing part of the meal. I don’t want to compromise quality though. Any ideas? Thanks to all.
Why do Indian restaurants serve beef dishes?
Hindus cannot eat beef as it is a forbidden food for them. The reason being, there is this bull named Nandi and he is Shiva’s (a god) vechicle. So, if they eat beef, they are eating Nandi. When I go to Indian restaurants I see Beef Vindaloo, Bhoona Gosht and other beef dishes. Why are these restaurants serving forbidden food? Do Indian restaurants hire non — Hindu staff to prepare these beef dishes? Thank you for your time in sharing with me why this is so.

Are Tandoori chicken, grill chicken and all other grilled items considered fast food? Are they health?
I see lot of grilled food in fast food restaurants like Tandoori chicken, grill chicken, kabab etc. I find that most of thes things are prepared in the Tandoor or some kind of bhatti so I don’t see much use of oil in this. So I guess this should be healthy? Please let me know if these foods constitute as healthy or not.
